I was born in Los Angeles, California, and grew up with screenwriter parents. My mom always said, "You can be whatever you want to be, just don't be a writer or a comedian." She is slightly disappointed to find out that her son is now a screenwriter, and her daughter writes and performs comedy songs.

I have always taken pride in my versatility, whether I'm doing opera, Shakespeare, or music composition. Yet, my one goal has always been to connect with people through humor. People often ask me how I became funny. I tell them it was through observation. It was actually from spending too much time on Tumblr.

 

In my free time, I enjoy drinking too much coffee, and collecting journals that I will never write in. This photo shows me in my natural state.
